I think they are useful even though I dont talk on it but have it on every time I hit the road.
Last weekend I was towing my suburban behind me just getting into this small town I have past thru many times before and had my turn signal on to take a short cut....trucker behind me got on the radio told me not to turn due to construction and he didnt think I would get thru or be able to turn around. For that I thanked him and wished him a great weekend.
Never know when they will come in handy and yes I want more range...still working on that.
