Derek and I are interested in digital modes, and looking at what others are doing with them.

Our main computer is a Mac, so software is kinda limited, but I have found Anther for my logging, and just downloaded CocoaModem. Not having done anything digital since the 90's with a minor foray into Packet Radio, I am kind of lost...

I also have on order a Signal Link USB box, which should be here next week.

So far I am impressed that CocoaModem will read PSK31 and CW just through the speakers.

Anyone else want to share their experiences?

John

I have not done much digital stuff. I did the packet thing, but lost interest.

I have used Airlink which is a Amateur Radio HF email system. It basically uses a Pactor modem interfaced to a HF transceiver and computer. I have used it in the motorhome when I have no other email connection. The real good thing is that it is free!!

John and Barry - you can often find me lurking on 14.074.5 during the day while I am working from home and 7074.5 at night when 20 shuts down. I will be on 17M when it opens back up - its my favorite band.

I use a SignalLink USB and like it so much, I am replacing my SlgnalLink SL-1+ with a USB for the second station. I use MixW for software and MFSK is my favorite mode along with PSK. I do dabble a bit in all modes just to get a feel for them.

Catch you on the air! 73 - Randy / WB5TEY
