Got mine in 2006,, Congrats.
You see I had to upgrade, in 2006 I did the paper upgrade from Tech+ to General,, got a new radio (Kenwood TS-2000) and found out that there was a posibility of transmitting OUTSIDE my allowed frequencies (Do not recall doing it but the radio can) but with the upgrade to EXTRA that can not happen.
Radio knows the band edges you see. if you try to go outside the band it BOOPS at you.

Congrats Dick.. I passed mine back in 2006 and got the new license as a Christmas Present (12/27) From the FCC.
Breakfast club is on 3.973Mhz (I think) BBC starts at 3AM Eastern to 5 then BC from 5 to 7 or 8 I usually make the BB C
72 Chew 7.272 MHZ is 9 to noon M-F I usually check in with N4GYN 11-Noon Tues or 9-10 Fri.
Bands suck just now so that's about all I'm doing.. when things change I'll get more into PSK-31

Congrats on your first year as an Amateur Extra!
I see that you didn't change your call. When I upgraded they were at AE5DM and so I jumped the line and put in for AE5DS which of course would by my initials.
If you haven't yet, I would invite you to join the 80 meter WAS GERATOL NET. We meet each evening at 01:00Z on 3668 kHz from October 1 through April 30. Operation generally begins with an eastern net control and proceeds west. I usually try to check in once or twice a month.
