... two wrong on the tech... one wrong on the General exam.
.
However:
only 19 right on the Extra. I have some equations to memorize for that, some more antenna theory etc... I haven't even opened the extra class study manual.
I am a Happy Camper today

Wow, only 3 wrong over all.. not bad at all.
Now you got one more to go.. When I decided to go for the gold (Extra) I picked up a Gordon West book and though it (later) was helpful I very quickly hit a wall.
Then I had a chance to take most of a class. The class used the ARRL guide.
Well, When I picked up the ARRL guide that wall.. was a bit like the wall at Jerico when Joshua arrived (it came a tumblin down) and when I got to class the rubble resulting from the wall falling down was ground up, mixed with gypsum and water, and re-cast as nice smooth pavement. I finished 2/3 of the class and tested out (Schedule conflict on remaing 3rd) Missed 2 on the Extra exam.. Right about the same percentage as you.
And a WHOLE lot better than I expected to do (Though I did expect to pass).
Welcome. I hang out on 3.973 MHZ some time betwen 3 and 7 am most mornings (Breakfast and Before Breakfast clubs) If you have a radio that goes there.. check them out. Lower side band of course.

Welcome to the hobby! There's a lot still to learn (every answer just generates more questions) but that is part of the fun. Best way to start is to listen for a while, then dive in. Don't be intimidated if you're not an expert in every operating procedure, you'll get a lot of support from other hams.

Thanks all -- 73's
Extra Book is on the table calling my name. I will bring it to the rally with me.. hah as if I'll get much of a chance to study there....
I have had this on my bucket list since high school. I gave up then partly because of the code requirement and partly because things got too busy. I had even made, with some help for circuit design, a practice oscillator for my high school physics class. I can't for the life of me find where I put it. I can only assume it was tossed out as I had used an old phonograph speaker box for the case.
LOL lots of questions still. Theory is one thing, hands on is a different ballgame.
Biggest thing now, is trying to figure out what I should buy for my first real radio
I should be in the database the middle of next week, since Monday is a holiday.
I was really amazed, there were about 10 people taking the test. One guy sailed through all three. A 20 ish young lady, a few young guys in their 20's and the rest of us with a few gray hairs hehe. I kind of expected to have one or two others max.
Total of three of us passed the general exam.

Just remember.. The Extra Exam only LOOKS scary, Turns out it was easy with the proper study guide and review book (I used Gordon's book for review)
Oh, Ham Nation | TWiT.TV. Check it out, also google "amateurlogic" all one word. I think that's www.amaturlogic.tv but not sure. I've chatted with George (common to both) a few times. I'm not on the air this evening... Move tomorrow at oh-dark-30 and took the antenna down in advance.
