I use an LDG 897 tuner on my Yaesu FT8897D when in the trailer. I have a homebrew 20/40m dipole I put up for the trailer or I sit in the truck and work a few stations.

I have one on my Sunova with a Icom 706 Mk2.
I am very disappointed in it's operation. I
wish I would have gotten a SGC.

I used one last year with a 40' push up pole.....with the AH-4 at hitch level, I had trouble with RF in the coach....but I raised the AH-4 to roof level with the same push up pole and had no trouble with RF and acceptable performance......obviously "acceptable" is a subjective term....I only play radio occasionaly and dont chase DX ...
I was using a variable length wire using the bus as the counterpoise.....with the wire running up the push up pole and sometimes over to a tree..
Its all fun...this year I am going to mess with a HI-Q antenna up top.
Please keep us posted on any and all trial and errors.
Thanks
Steve

I've got one but haven't had the opportunity to use it yet. As mentioned above, I've heard RF getting into the couch. Even getting into the microphone on your radio.
I've also heard a good ground, maybe a ground rod driven into the ground instead of using the coach chassis as a ground for the AH4, works better and helps eliminate the RF problem.
There is, or was, a ham on this forum awhile back, that uses the same setup your asking about and he said it worked very good. Not the grounding problem I mentioned, but the AH-4 with a 16-gauge wire wrapped round and round a 32 foot mast.

Yes, what would you like to know? BTW, I love it.

WXSBY,
I have the AH-4 on my boat with a IC-706MKII and it works very well but I'm using the Ocean for a ground plane! I had an SGC radio and tuner and had nothing but trouble with both of them.
