Leaving this morning for the weekend Baltimore Amateur Radio Club hamfest being held at the Maryland State Fairgrounds in Timonium, Maryland. I have attended many one day Hamfests but haven't tried traveling to large regional two day events. I'm hoping to see more than just my RV in the parking area. The added benefit of taking the RV is all the available storage in the basement for new toys. Shakedown cruise for Dayton.

If I had $$$ I'd be there. but alas.. if it costs more than a dollar (And the gas to get there will) It's beyond my budget.
I do plan on a return to Dayton in a few years when my budget improves.

Getting my Class A Itasca Suncruiser ready to travel more often, and getting ready for the hurricane season. Live full time in S. Florida, in a somewhat remote area so the best way to survive hurricanes is to depart out of harms way. Also plan to attend more hamfests in FL, such as Orlando, Melbourn, etc. with the RV. Carry lots of antennas, such as hamsticks, mounting poles, and vhf antennas. Checked out the many RV's at the Orlando Hamfest in 2011 for antenna installations. The majority had Tarheel type verticals mounted on or around the rear ladders. Looking forward to visiting the FL hamfest locations in 2012, see you there!

You do need a new toy. Women do not understand that the one with the most toys is the winner.

I have camped at the Raleigh NC hamfest several times. It is held at the NC State Fair grounds. They have full RV hookups very close to the building where the hamfest is. It was $15 for several years, but now it is $25 to stay there.
