It's been years since I've used a CB, been meaning to put one my Dad gave me in the RV. From years past, I remember channel 13 being used by boats who didn't have a marine radio or didn't want to abide by those rules. Perhaps that only comes into play along the coast??

I bet it has been thirty years since I had a CB. You were supposed to get a license but many people did not. Mine was (and I guess might still be) KAKU5158. You never heard any foul language but if you did everyone would "stomp" on the offender meaning key their mics to over ride them. No reason RVers couldn't police 13 that way.

Maybe I'll dig around in the garage and see if I have an old 23 channel out there. The MH like many is wired for it. Then I can tune in 19 and learn some new words to use when I hit my thumb with the hammer.

If you want to communicate with a stranger channel 19 is your only chance of getting someone. All the other channels are used when two parties want to drop down from channel 19 to have a private chat. Its not what it used to be however it is a good tool for people who travel together in separate vehicles.

Foretravel owners go to their channel: Four (FORE) when they see another Foretravel coach.

That's interesting info. It would be nice if RVers in general would give a yell on 13 when they pass....but to get the 'active' for RVers.
