Anyone use these batteries?

Ok, I did search but there were 1000 threads so I will just ask. I am looking to upgrade the 2 6 volt house batteries I have and go to 4. I found these and thought they looked pretty good. I don't know a ton about batteries so thought I would ask here.

What do you guys think? I can get them for about $250 each.

That won't be a problem as my battery tray is large and wide open with plenty of clearance above. Probably have 2 feet of clearance up.

They would be a good battery to use. Less batteries required and less connections = less problems. I have been using that type of battery in the solar industry and found they do not have to be replaced as often as golf cart batteries.

Really? I am new to this. I would like to research the batteries you are referencing. A 6 volt golf cart battery with 370ah for $84, I am interested.

370Ah for $279 is 75 cents per Ah, a $99 GC2 is about 46 cents per Ah. So from a $ per Ah perspective it's cheaper to run GC2's...provided there's room to fit them in. The L16 style batteries offer a configuration option that may not be possible with other sizes so it comes down to what the goal is. Sometimes the best answer isn't going to be cheapest $ per Ah.

Thanks everyone for your input. I love this forum as it educates me every day.

Ok, I see what your saying. Definitely not 3 times the cost. I can get the one I have on here for $250 so lowers the cost to 68 cents/ah.

I am thinking about getting 6 of these so that would be 1110ah. I would need 8 of the 215ah batteries just to get 860ah which I couldn't fit but I can fit the 6 of the L16. Plus this will be less batteries to maintain.

So...yep, as you say, sometimes it isn't always about money.

If you want high capacity with 6, L16 batteries, get 2 volt cells.

I'm in the process too of researching new 6 volt batteries.
I'm limited to two under the stairs but i don't need anymore
I'll end up with some golf cart batteries from a local dealer when they have them on sale
Or just go here,
sams club
Can you get those duracells locally?
Doesn't look they ship and you'll need to pay a core charge for the extra batteries
Also check your compartment to make sure 6 of your batteries will hold almost 700#

Another question, not necessarily off subject; whoever installed my two house batteries didn’t punch the dates out. What’s the best way (if there is a way), to test them for remaing life?

Yes, I can get them locally plus I have old batteries for the core. I too am concerned on the weight. Our rig is not here right now. As soon as I get it back, I am going to look at the tray to see how robust it is.
