I am supprised their are not more posted troubles with ethanol fuel problems, with the big tanks and long (not running) periods. I have seen 4 fuel incidence with boats in florida and the outboard manufacture won't cover it under warrenty, each was over $1000.00. A motorhome that sits for over 6 weeks, big gas tank would be no different. My boat and Motorhome sits for 6 months one in winter and one in summer, but I haved managed to fine non ethanol for fillup and use a fuel stabilizer. Ethanol goes in fuel seperation after 6 week of non use. If intefested do search on ethanol and boating

Im interested, and I'll do the search, but for a quicky, does it remix when the coach is again in motion, ignoring for now the initial "slurp" from the fuel pump?...rgr...

In WI and I believe IL we are mandated to have a 10% blend of ethanol. My MH goes into storage for 6 months at a time. I have not had any fuel problems due to separation. I believe only with contamination by the addition of water does separation occur. It would seem to me that boats would be more susceptible to water contamination than a MH sitting in storage. I do know a full fuel tank helps eliminate moisture accumulation during periods of storage.
I have not had to purchase gas line antifreeze for my cars as 10% ethanol eliminates gas line freeze up.

When I was at dealers the biggest problem I was when someone would fill up with ethanol blend then let it sit, such as filling up the boat, go play for a day then park it for six weeks.
The ethanol cleans out the varnish left behind by regular gas, so long as you're using it regularly it just dissolves away harmlessly, but if left to sit the varnish rehardens and glues everything shut.

One reason you may be not seeing E-85 complaints is that at least on my 2005, the owner's manual clearly says "DO NOT USE IT"
Big engines tend to like Regular
My complaint about E-85 is the way they make it now it is not doing any good, in fact it's doing considerable harm

I find for long term storage, depending on the tank size, I use double-triple the normal dosage of Stabil (Or use of the new Marine Stabil which is designed to help protect marine seals from ethanol) for the gallonage present. No problems with motors .
