Freightliner achieves zero waste to landfill status

(Oct. 29, 2009) -- Joining an elite group of solid waste-free manufacturing facilities in the United States, Freightliner went from disposing 250,000 pounds per month of solid waste in January 2007 to disposing zero pounds today as a result of numerous environmental efforts implemented at its facility.

when i worked for the army we were screenign down a project to do that with some of their operations
I am happy to see others doing it
however some of the not seens are if the supplier cant reuse the container they shipped the parts to you in, then you make them take the empties back and they dispose of em, this leaves you trashless.

but most suppliers and users have figured out out to make things work both ways so its a win in the zero landfill area

paints and solvents are a biggie, i wonder if the frame pieces come to them already coated....


either way its good.

we as end users should aim for such zero landfill
