I saw this article and also read a news release from Reuters today.

Interesting stuff, they say they developed a membrane electrode assembly containing a material capable of breaking down water into hydrogen and oxygen through a chemical reaction adopting a known process to produce hydrogen from water similar to the mechanism that produces hydrogen by a reaction of metal hydride and water. Their new process is expected to produce hydrogen from water for a longer time.

Sure hope they're successful and it works as they say.If it can be parlayed to the masses at a reasonable and affordable price, those guys will become the wealthiest people on the planet and the sheiks in the mid-east will be back to riding around on camels.

Great! This might get us one step closer to running off our holding tanks.

I'd seriously whack my bank account to be able to drive one of those around with a sign on the back that said "stick it, sheik..."

Yep that will sure work, calif lakes are going dry now and some other states are getting as bad so in about 50 years of running on water we should be able to drink oil cuz the water used in cars and most other drinks will be all gone and nothing left to drink.

Tell that to the folks in Iowa. Which is why they refer to water as a renewable resource.

Seems far fetched, doesn't it? I wonder what effect the salt will have?

Here's some on the 'water car'. It'd sure make a nice toad, maybe they'll be selling them here in a few years.
