Lithium Battery Disappointment
We have 400Ah of brand-spankin' new LiFePO4 batteries on the way. They were supposed to arrive on Thursday, which would have given me just enough time to throw them in our motorhome before we leave on a 3-week East Coast trip (via the Trans Canada Highway) Friday morning.
Foolish? Heck, yes! An electrical issue or battery failure on a three-week work trip while accompanied by my wife and two young sons would be horrible.
But I'm excited, so let's go for it!
Until today. I just got a notification that the delivery is delayed to Friday afternoon, about 6 hours after we need to be on the road.
Sigh.
Looks like one more run with the flooded lead acids (which work fine, complete with all of FLA's inherent weaknesses and limitations).

That's too bad, it would have been a good test. Oh well enjoy the holiday anyway.

Indeed. And, we definitely will! This is top o' the First World kind of problems. Only the tiniest of violins will play for me when I complain about not having boutique batteries in my boutique motorhome...

That is unfortunate for sure.
When you switch over to LiFePO4 are you changing anything else such as the inverter or battery charger?

We have a nice inverter/charger (Magnum ME2012), but I just finished some overall electrical system upgrade work in preparation for both the new batteries and a solar installation that we'll probably do later in the year.
I cleaned up the battery bay so that all of the cables that previously ran directly to the bank now run to + and - terminal blocks, and single cables run from the terminal blocks to the battery bank. I made sure to install terminal blocks that still have room to add in the solar charger cables when we do that installation, too.
I also changed the ME-RC-50 for an ME-ARC-50 so we have the upgraded remote features and functions, and also installed an ME-BMK battery monitor kit.
We already had a Magnum AGS, so everything is pretty well set up at the moment. It took a few hours to go through the ME-ARC-50 manual and plan out all of the various settings, but things should be tweaked for both our system and the way we use it now.
Hi. My name is Jeremy and I'm a geek, a gearhead, and a little, tiny bit obsessive.

the only words i'd say you didn't plan well (whatchamsaying rub salt into wound?) .
to be honest, it may not be too bad. you don't want to test something new on the road. take easy enjoy what you have.

Agree with CountryFit. It is probably best to have LFP for a few trips to make sure all the peripherals are working.: battery management system, charger, converter, inverter, ..
