Storage space in trailers is very valuable. Do you keep recyclables and normal trash seperate?
What, if anything, do you recycle and how many campsites have bins to put this stuff in?
I think overall it is easier for stick/brick households to recycle as versus rolling households.

We try to recycle at the campground - best luck is with aluminum cans. State and other public campgrounds often have places for cans. Also, some rest areas do. Otherwise we load the recycles up in the toad and take them home.

Some campgrounds have a receptacle to recycle aluminum cans, but I can't recall seeing anything else ever being collected for recycling at a campground. Aluminum is the highest value recyclable and will actually provide a small return to the campground or municipality doing the recycling. With the high cost of fuel today, other recyclables probably cost more to haul to the recycling center than they are worth.
Unfortunately, those of us who are full-timers have no home to take the recyclables back to. We can't afford the space and weight to haul them around while we look for a place to recycle.

We keep a hard sided plastic bag in the back of our truck (it has a cap on it) where all the aluminum cans go (Crushed) and plastic/glass goes.
We found that by crushing all cans, smashing all plastic as flat as we can get it, we can usually hold all our recyclables till we find a receptacle to put it in.
99% of our camping is boondocking or drycamping, so when ever we see a receptacle, we try and empty everything we have. Most towns have a center.
Hurray to Arizona, New Mexico and California where you can find recepticales on almost every corner!
