Old hat. I was solar cookin with a cardboard box and aluminum foil 20 years ago. Anyone remember the Foxfire book series that taught all this good stuff in the 70/80's time frame. Amazing people are finally starting to catch on to this.

A few years back I talk to a feller who had a solar panel that covered his roof from one side to the other and about half the heigth of the roof. His system was not only solar electricity but it had water lines thru it to be used as both water heater and his house heat. I am not familiar with the system but it sure seemed to be operational because I saw a house being built on tv from home that was supposed to be green and it had all the same things.
As for solar ovens use a cardboard box wrap it with aluminum foil, the lid too. Put your food in it in the morning and leave it till evening in the sun and you will have a cooked dinner. You can also do pies that way.

I borrowed a "Sun Oven" from a friend a month ago and I'm a cookin fool. I'm hooked on it and bought one last week. Anything you can cook in a conventional oven you can cook in a solar. I've reached temps of 400F here in So. Cal.
