Thermal Cooking

I didn't see anything about this in the thread search, so here goes!
My significant other was doing research on thermal cooking. Wow! What a neat way to save propane!!
Anytime she's cooking pasta, rice, beans, etc that requires water - she just brings it to a boil, adds whatever needs to be added, stirs it all up, makes sure it is back to a boil - and she just puts it right on our bed with a bunch of blankets.
She has one underneath and several around and over it. Try to make it as tight as possible. ALL the heat stays in and cooks your food, just like always - but no more propane being used to "maintain the boil".
Check it out on our Thermal Cooking page on our website. It really works!! just imagine how much propane you can save!
Plus, if you have solar, just use an electric tea kettle to boil the water initially - then you only have to use the propane a few minutes to bring back to a boil!

I do something like that in my Jeep. I have a underhood "oven" (a steel box with a latchable lid) that I put food (double wrapped in aluminum foil) in. It sits right in the air flow stream that comes out of the radiator.
Food nice and hot after a hour or so of driving on the trails.

Looked at you tire page... you leave your spare exposed to the sun all the time only on one side... a little scarey from the heat and UV aspects of tires deteriorating. Might be a good idea to throw a tire cover over it.

You're kidding, right Marty!?!?!?!
This particular thread is about a thermal cooker!
Plus, the tire is a SPARE so I have something if I ever get a flat in the middle of nowhere..... the tire has already served its purpose - very well for 70,000 miles.... The DOT Code would be suicide if I ever kept it as a "real tire".......
