Why not just burn the natural gas for fuel in the first place? Using CH4 as a source for hydrogen still leaves the question - what do I do with the carbon after stripping off the hydrogen? If I convert it to CO2 and release it, I really haven't made any significant contribution to reducing greenhouse gases, and by using natural gas as my feedstock, I'm not moving away from fossil fuels. So, why bother with hydrogen in that case?
