Maybe someone wearing a decision-making suit (Marcus, are you listening?) at Camping World HQ will see the way we feel they are becoming and will do something to reverse the trend.

Alas, business is run by MBAs and attorneys nowadays, and they don't usually have much of a grasp on the business realm in which they live. All they know is how to turn a profit. Sometimes that's only for a short-term.

"Dump valve? What's that? How many times a year does it turn on the shelves? That's too few. No profit in it. Discontinue it right away! Next?"

X2 And remember that most CW locations are franchised not home office owned. Kinda like welfare, once you give them something, there's no taking back... so sad.

On July 22 we went to what was supposed to be an RV sale at the Raymond James Stadium. I received a postcard in the mail that this event was hosted by Camping World of Bartow (formerly Dusty's). Upon arrival it was quickly explained to us that this was not a sale but in fact an inventory blow-out of trade in and leftover inventory from several recently acquired stores by Camping World. We were looking for a bunkhouse model of which they only had one unit and it was WHOOPED! Even thought it was a 2010 it looked like a 1990 that had been used for tailgating every weekend. Bottom line was they wouldn't budge on price and we walked. I did ask what happens after the sale if the units didn't sell and was told they would go to auction and try and move the product out West.

On August 5 we went to Camping World of Tampa (formerly Long View RV) again after receiving another postcard that they were having a grand opening sale. Upon arrival we were seriously disappointed that we had to walk all around the store and lot to find a dealer only to find 3 of them having a cigarette out back and they were the only 3 working. When we asked about bunkhouse models we were told, "to go look over there." So we did only to have a mechanic get a little upset at us for starting a generator and pushing the slides out without a salesman. I told the mechanic if they didn't want us to do it then one of them should have accompanied us. The mechanic agreed and he went with us on the next motorhome.

He walked us to a unit that was pretty far back in the lot and was telling all the great things about it. Once we walked into it we quickly discovered this was the exact same unit we saw at Raymond James Stadium. Could you believe they actually raised the price since the Stadium show too?

I am done with Camping World!
