Freightliner Custom Chassis Corporation Enhances Popular XC-L Motorhome Chassis
LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Freightliner Custom Chassis Corporation (FCCC) announced today at the National RV Trade Show that it has made enhancements to the company's popular XC-L lowered-rail motorhome chassis, allowing for a heavier front axle rating.
Engineers increased the front axle rating by nearly 20 percent, a significant improvement. The front axle rating denotes the amount of weight the chassis is able to carry. The gross axle weight rating (GAWR) of the FCCC XC-L motorhome chassis is now 14,700 lbs.
"FCCC engineers take our customers' interests to heart," said Jonathan Randall, director of sales and marketing for FCCC. "FCCC makes it a practice to listen to what our customers desire from their motorhome chassis. As a result of their input, we've increased the XC-L front GAWR."
The XC-L is a popular diesel chassis option with motorhome customers. Known for its industry-leading 60-degree wheel cut with the optional ZF(tm) Independent Front Suspension System (IFS), the FCCC XC-L motorhome chassis boasts unmatched maneuverability.
Equipped with the 8.9-liter Cummins(r) ISL diesel engine with up to 425 hp and 1200 lbs.-ft. torque, the XC-L chassis is a powerful performer. The lower frame rail lowers the center of gravity, resulting in improved motorcoach ride and handling. The inverted design of the XC-L allows for additional pass-through storage, better enabling coach builder customization.
The XC-L is available for order. Please contact your local RV dealer for more information, or visit freightlinerchassis.com.
