Interstate StarRV Offers Coverage for Unsold Carriage RVs

Greg Gerber posted on December 08, 2011 12:07
RV D@aily News

ATLANTA -- Interstate StarRV today announced they will make available to interested dealers, warranty coverage for unsold Carriage, Inc., manufactured RV units on dealers’ lots throughout the country beginning immediately.

Interstate StarRV is a provider of RV F&I products backed by Interstate National Dealer Services and its umbrella company, Interstate National Corporation.

“The unfortunate closing of Carriage has left almost 1,000 RV units on dealers’ lots without manufacturer’s warranty coverage and would be sold “as is” to the buyers,” said Ricky Wolfe, Interstate National CMO announced. “This is unacceptable, and Interstate StarRV wants to provide peace of mind for these dealers and agents as well as their customers by offering a premier warranty product when purchased.”

Does anyone have personal experience filing claims with this company? I just purchased a used RV from a private seller and it has a transferable service contract from Interstate National Dealer Services. I have read some pretty scathing reviews of denied claims from this provider and have become somewhat concerned that I have inherited a useless policy.

Sounds like they see an opportunity and have stepped up to offer some assistance to the dealers and potential owners. Carriage made a great product and it was sad to see them go down.

I have had 4 claims with Interstate Star with no problems. I believe your success with these "warranties" depend more on how the shop handles the claim than with the "warranty" company itself. Some shops seem to have more success with claims than other shops.

Paul, Satisfy your curiosity and get a rating from the BBB. I hope that helps you get the information you need to know.

Don't believe everything you read on the Internet ....
