For Immediate Release
Boston, MA – December 26, 2009 -- The New England RV Dealers Association, producers of the Boston RV & Camping Expo, has launched a social media campaign to promote the January event that will be held at the Bayside Expo Center in Boston. “Interest in the show is increasing daily. We are still working with dealers that want to come into the show or expand the footprint for the space they have already committed to for the 2010 Expo,” said Shawn Sheehy, NERVDA’s General Counsel.
Marty Hanoud, president of Marty’s USRV and RVDA Massachusetts delegate, noted; “Dealers are upbeat and excited about the upcoming show season. Lot traffic has increased and manufacturers are building again. I’m convinced the bad news is behind us as we get ready for the big Boston show.”
The new social media campaign will focus on a dedicated Facebook page with daily postings, discount coupons, and an active communications for consumers, dealers, campgrounds, suppliers and manufacturers. Local New England dealers that will be exhibiting at the show will also be featured in various postings on the site.
Brad Moore, president of NERVDA and owner of Bradford’s RV, said; “We think the social media campaign will be very important to reaching out to consumers where they now hang out, and it’s on the Internet. We have made adjustments to our advertising budget to reflect the new media embraced by consumers. We know they are on the Internet because it’s the first place they go to research various RV products before visiting dealer showrooms or attending seasonal shows.”
The campaign is being managed by John DiPietro, ABC/D Marketing of Holden, MA. a national social media expert, author and speaker. “The campaign will focus on building a community of people that love RV’s, the lifestyle, and the personal freedoms it affords to their families in these challenging times. Marketing experts all agree that the consumer is on the web and they no longer receive their primary messages through traditional radio, television or print media. We want to take the show news to them through their new communication vehicles and not hope that they are watching television at a particular time or reading the newspaper on a particular day to learn about a great RV show in Boston.”
While Facebook is the primary site; www.facebook.com/bostonrvandcampingexpo, there will also be a Twitter account, www.twitter.com/bostonrvexpo and videos available on www.youtube.com/bostonrvexpo.
