New 2012 Thor Palazzo Thrills Show Attendess at RVIA Exposition

Louisville, KY November 29, 2011 - The "new" THOR Palazzo has made a big impression with show attendees at the 49th RVIA Exposition in Louisville, KY.

Reportedly, the new motorhome blurs the lines between wanting or not a rear diesel pusher, when it becomes strictly a decision based on cost. One can make an argument that similiarly equipped gasoline powered coaches may approach the cost of the Palazzo however in consideration of an air ride suspension and the power of the Cummins diesel once can justify their purchasing decision.

The pic that is shown I am told is probably the only one on the net at the moment. Looking at the floorplan - no electric bed.

Thanks. I have a Thor ACE currently. Need to upgrade to a diesel. This may be an option. The new Fleetwood Excursion might be a better option for me. Nice to have two new entry level diesels to choose from.

Graphix Unlimited “Best In Show” at National RV Trade Show

12/02/11 This week at the 49th Annual National RV Trade Show in Louisville, Kentucky it was announced that a unit designed by Graphix Unlimited in Bremen; the Thor Palazzo had taken “BEST IN SHOW” for 2012.

Special congratulations to Graphix Unlimited staff Artist Brad Haeck who designed the paint job used on the unit. His design was picked best of show from all the Motor Home exterior art designs.

Brad is a 1999 graduate of Plymouth High School. A conceptual artist for Graphix Unlimited for eight years, he said he took art classes at PHS and graduated from Indiana Wesleyan with a degree in graphic design. (He currently serves as the PHS Tennis Coach)

When asked about this award winning project Haeck said his initial designing took five to six hours to complete although revisions and color combos took several weeks before the design was ready for the production artist to complete his part of the project.

One thing that is a bit unusual is that the national winning design on the Thor Palazzo is a full paint unit. No decals but a painted design.

ARE YOU GOING TO BE IN FLORIDA ?

Nearly 25 THOR DIESEL CLUB (TDC) Members have already expressed their intent to attend the TDC Gathering at the Florida RV Super Show to be held at the Florida State Fairgrounds in TAMPA, FL. We have talked to the Super Show Host and requested to be parked in the same place as last year---near the entrance gate with easy access to both the grounds and show.

The cost is $159.00/rig with 2 people---which includes 4 nights of dry camping w/30 Amp electric hookups, coffee & donuts each morning, 3 nights entertainment, and FREE Unlimited Admission to the Super Show. Go to www.frvta.org to find the Registration Form. It shows all the particulars. Enter THOR DIESEL CLUB in the Club/Group line space near the bottom when you fill out the form and send it in with your $$$ payment to FRVTA to attend the Super Show. Mark Arrival Date: as 10 January. You will receive travel directions and credentials directly from FRVTA.

Our group will plan to assemble between NOON and 2 PM on 10 January (which is a day before the Super Show actually opens). We will get 30 Amp service late that day and have a FREE night of camping. We will gather together in a fairgrounds designated assembly area as a MTC Group---and then be directed to and parked in our blocked camping area by the show staff. It is important to arrive on time as part of the group to be parked together.

Even if you have not yet made specific Florida plans at this time---CHECK IT OUT. Late decision makers can always be accommodated---Late registrars can do it at the gate as a last resort.
