FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
RV Buddies Shooting Pilot in August
North Hollywood, CA, August 6, 2008 -- RV Buddies, a new HD television show about the RV lifestyle, is set to shoot its' pilot the week of August 11.
RV Buddies is an RV lifestyle-adventure show featuring a fun-loving trio and their canine companions as they tour the United States reviewing the latest RV's, destination resorts and best-kept-secret campgrounds. Knowledgeable and entertaining hosts Mark Summers and Elise Baughman along with Robert Wittenberg have fun, meet folks and discover America – all on an affordable budget!
Airing this fall on internet and satellite TV, the "G"¯ rated RV Buddies features affordable recreation vehicles (typically between $75,000 and $150,000) during visits to campsites and tourist traps throughout the United States. "We could have reviewed the million dollar fantasy coaches" says Mark Summers, executive producer and one of the hosts of RV Buddies adding, "but we wanted to have products that our audience could relate and aspire to (budget-wise)".
"RV'ing is as American as apple pie," says Summers, adding, "showing people enjoying the RV lifestyle is a great thing."
When asked about the price of fuel, Summers had this to say: "Even though fuel prices have spiked, (and appear to be receding), RV'ing still offers one of the best values in vacation travel - and America has a lifetime's worth of resorts to explore in our own back yard." Summers couldn't resist adding: "You don't have to pay $25 to $50 extra per piece of luggage in your own RV either!"
The show features host Summers, who at 52 is an avid RV enthusiast. Sharing hosting duties are Elise Baughman who has a decade of camping experience, and Robert Wittenberg, an avid sports enthusiast who will take on all the "extreme" challenges that each episode and resort presents.
Summers, also a pet-rescue advocate, owns two red-nose American Staffordshire Pit Bull Terriers (Toby and Alex). "The two dogs will be featured prominently on the show" says Summers." He added: "When you perform opposite children or animals, you are assured that they will steal the show.
The pilot is being shot in Pismo Beach, California and will feature the Winnebago 35' Sightseer Class A Motor Home. "We're so thrilled to have received such positive support from what is one of the oldest and largest American icons in business and the RV industry for our pilot," says Summers adding, "Winnebago understands that the current business climate mirrors the last 'fuel crisis'. The difference this time around is that the largest growth potential for the industry lies just ahead as the baby-boomers mature and a new youth market embrace the RV lifestyle."
Shot in HD, the show will be available on the rvbuddiesonline.com website along with other helpful information for and about the RV community. Other web properties offer merchandise, blogs, and other options for video streaming.
On air versions are being prepared for broadcast as well. Advertising, sponsorship and product placement opportunities are available. Coaches are being scheduled for upcoming episodes planned for production at the end of the year following coverage of the Pomona RV Show.
