Winnebago’s Travato Makes Its Debut at the GoPro Games
.
FOREST CITY, IOWA, June 2, 2015 – It’s estimated more than 56,000 GoPro Mountain Games spectators will get a firsthand look at the coach that’s perfect for its outdoor attendees – the flame red Travato.
.
Winnebago Industries, Inc. (NYSE:WGO), a leading United States (U.S.) recreation vehicle manufacturer, will be displaying the Travato 59G at the GoPro Mountain Games June 4-9 in Vail, Colorado. The Travato is the perfect motorhome for outdoor enthusiasts and offers a rear bed that conveniently folds up for storing bikes and other outdoor accessories.
.
This is the first time Winnebago has displayed at the nation’s largest celebration of adventure sports, music and mountain lifestyle.
“We are excited to bring the Travato to this core group of outdoor enthusiasts,” said Russ Garfin, Product Manager. “We truly feel the Travato is the perfect fit for these games and we know we’ll impress many in attendance with this versatile basecamp.”
.
The Travato will be parked in Gear Town, among other notable vendors, and will be outfitted with top-of-the-line Jackson kayaks.
.
Both professional and amateur athletes from around the world participate in the games – now in their 14th year. Events include a mountain bike race up Vail Mountain and rafting on the whitewater of Gore Creek in Vail Village.
.
“Eighty-four percent of attendees consider themselves ‘outdoor enthusiasts’ and that’s exactly who we are targeting with this coach,” Garfin added. “This is the perfect venue for us to showcase the Travato and its functionality.”
Watch for updates on the GoPro Games on Winnebago’s Facebook and Twitter pages.

It's an ugly motorhome. The side door is half blocked if not more trying to get inside. The cabinet immediately in front of you makes you feel closed in. And the bed area/lift is anything left to be desired. Just our opinion. We were hopeful on this because of the sportiness of it, but were truly let down.

I looked at one recently at my local Camping World. If the MB Sprinter chassis doesn't do it for you, I would wait for the inevitable Transit models to hit the market. The ProMaster/Ducato platform does not impress. It is built to hit a low price point, and it shows.
