News Release
UNION CITY, Ind. (June 30, 2008) "” Workhorse Custom Chassis has restructured its sales and marketing operations while appointing Jim Gavaghan to the newly created position of vice president of sales for both commercial and RV chassis.
Workhorse markets chassis for motor homes and commercial walk-in trucks. Sales and marketing have been separate operations for each industry. Effective June 16, Gavaghan is responsible for sales of both RV and commercial chassis, while current Vice President of RV Sales and Marketing Tony Monda will be responsible for marketing and product planning for both RV and commercial products.
Monda was director of marketing for both RV and commercial chassis several years ago before Workhorse split the product lines into separate sales and marketing operations.
Gavaghan comes to Workhorse with almost 20 years of sales experience in the truck industry. He has sold vehicles at the dealer, regional and national fleet levels. Most recently, he was vice president of sales at Chicago International Trucks and Affiliates, where he was responsible for the sale of International trucks through one dealership organization with eight locations. Gavaghan has also worked inside International's sales community as a Key Market Manager and as a National Account Manager.
"After some close examination, we concluded that separating our marketing and sales leadership could better harness the distinctive talents needed for those positions,"¯ said Workhorse President Dave Olsen. "Tony's marketing expertise, combined with his previous experience with our commercial products, makes him an ideal choice to effectively fuse our overall product planning and marketing. We believe in providing quick-to-market products that are in tune with our customers' needs. We expect Tony to provide excellent leadership in that regard."¯
"At the same time, effectively directing sales is a full-time job with its own set of skills. Jim knows from the ground level how the manufacturer-to-customer pipeline works. We expect him to be a great resource in directing our sales agents and in building on our present sales relationships."¯
"The markets Workhorse serves are volatile – We believe this new alignment will allow us to better identify and capture the unique opportunities as a result of these market changes,"¯ concluded Olsen. "We are always looking for a better way and we are very excited about having Jim on board and the new possibilities this change creates for us."¯
