2012 Itaska Ellipse 42QD

First motor home.

I've owned three 5th wheels including a 2011 40' New Horizons so I thought this Ellipse would be an easy transition. (wrong)
I would like to hear from other Ellipse owners about tips on maintaining the systems and any gotchas that could cause unexpected problems. I would also like to hear about the good stuff.

So far after two days on the road we are enjoying the experience and learning new facts daily about operating the equipment.

It's similar to owning and maintaining airplane.

Congrats on the new moho. You might post your specific questions on the Winnebago/Itasca owners section.

Nice coach!

What made you go with that particular coach vs other makes/models?

FYI: It's Itasca not Itaska

Congratulations and enjoy your new rig. Please come on by the Winnebago Owner's Forum if you have anything at all to discuss. You will find a number of helpful owners in there ready to help you.

Don't put off getting underneath with a trouble light & a can of CorrosionX to spray any of Winny's welds that need it...most of the welds in mine were not painted...no idea why.

Spray the cargo bay supports as well...they are painted but are very suseptible to rust.

Grats on your coach....I've full timed in mine over 2 years now and still love my 42AD.

ps...buy a bunch of 1" #8 & #10 self tapping screws to have on hand as you find things coming loose due to stripping of the self drilling screws Winny uses everywhere.
