Let's not get hung up on the term "entry level" I don't think it was meant as an insult. I consider my Excursion entry level for diesel pushers just like a Palazzo and others like it. Doesn't mean it's a lower life form by any stretch of the imagination.

We were out looking at different coaches and saw Alegro Buses this weekend. There's a 37' model that's just slightly bigger than my MH and lists for more than double the price. Lots of upgraded features. Probably drives better than mine, tows better than mine, quieter than mine etc. Of course I don't want to pay that much and what I've got fills the bill.

How is it one careless match can start a forest fire but it takes a whole box to start a campfire?

I agree, you've probably got one basic problem, whatever caused the wires to melt, causing all the other issues you're dealing with.

Melted wires would have been a show stopper for me, I'd be making a 180 back to the dealer, or even better, the factory service center if it was within a reasonable distance. Once lit, these things will go up faster than you can dial 911.

For your own safety, get it back to a service outlet ASAP.

I am still trying to figure out why this is in the new rig show off section.

Sorry to hear that, but this is one of the reason I told my husband to buy a older Diesel Pusher coach instead of new, because all those small details had been taken care already. Look for a 2015 Fleetwood Discovery 40E.

2016 Excursion first night

We ordered a new then 2014 Tiffin 36LA and had and are still having a mess of problems the first of which were electrical. Learned to tighten down all connections from the transfer switch, 12v rail, and both breaker boxes. Loose wires cause arcing which can start fires.
Also the good news for you is that Fleetwood has excellent factory service and I am sure they will make this good for you. They know they are on the hook for this. Our very good friends have taken their unit to Decatur and were VERY impressed with factory service.Consider the factory for repair rather than the dealer and document everything.
In fact we will probably be buying a new Discovery because we are closer to Decatur than Red Bay and no one knows your Fleetwood better than the factory IMHO.
Sorry for your disappointing situation, but Fleetwood is a good company and I am sure you will taken care of. Best wishes.
