2016 Fleetwood excursion 35e...one problem on first night of vacation

We just purchased a new Fleetwood Excursion 35e and our first night the a/c will not work with the generator even though the generator is running.
Both AC s worked when plugged into electric at home prior. It seems that the automatic transfer switch is broken already? Could it be something else? Any help would be appreciated!

We checked that and it's fine. It sounds like something is wrong with the automatic transfer switch? Seems odd since its brand new though.

Just went into one of the compartments and the wires were melted!! Not the way you want to start a vacation with a new motorhome. Should have tested the generator at the dealer right away.

Which wires? In the generator compartment? Is everything working on shore power? Do you have batteries in your smoke detector? How far to your dealer?

On my first drive with my excursion all my dashboard instruments quit at the same time on the highway. Very scary.

Every new RV does have some problems. I saw a Newmar King Air last year that had a long list of problems to be solved at the factory. And that was a $800K plus coach. Take it back to the dealer right away. Hopefully they will stand behind the warranty. That is a fire waiting to happen!

Fleetwood is considered the entry level coaches from that manufacturer. I believe HR and Monaco are mid level and American Coach is high end.

Fleetwood Entry level MH's can cost from a Class C to A in price from $68,495 up to $337,873 +.

That 337K may be more then a entry level to some.
Also the several models priced below it.
They are many Full timers in those Fleetwood entry level MH's and very happy with them.

HR from $70,506 to $219,015 +
Monaco can be $600K plus

Did I say I love my entry level Fleetwood for Full Time over the last 13 years.

As our trip went on we continued to have more problems....our fridge is completely out, our engine won't shut off with the key and husband has to pull a fuse to shut it off, generator won't turn on at all after he had it working, electric on seats is out, and the list goes on and on.......is there a MI lemon law for motorhomes??? My husband spent most of our vacation on hold with Fleetwood, cummins, the dealers mechanics reexplaining the problems with no help!!! I will post pics later on a computer, phone won't post them.

I would venture to say many of your problems are related, something shorted out that can cause a host of issiues. Let Fleetwood fix the items that give it another run you will most likely be happy.

What was the manufacturing date stamped on your 2016?

I'm very interested to see the melted wires you mentioned. Please feel free to private message them to me.

Medico, REALLY? Just because you have a Country Coach that doesn't give you the right to tell me, or anybody else for that matter, that my Class A DP 2005 38N Bounder is a "ENTRY LEVEL" coach. When it was built it had options installed on it that some high end coaches did not have and it cost me 6 figures too. My wife and I got the coach that we wanted and what we felt like we could afford at the time. I would not have done anything different. When we got our coach we traded in a high end fifth wheel a Hitchiker Champagne. so, don't tell me about entry level and high end because I have had both. Our first fiver would have been considered entry level. And, I DO NOT consider my Bounder an "ENTRY LEVEL" coach not with a 6 figure price tag. If you want to talk about high end coaches then go buy yourself either a Prevost or a Newell.

Jerry
