And so we are off!

John spent a couple days getting tow bar and tail lights hooked up for our jeep. I was itching to get out of town on our first maiden voyage, finally the time came, whew! John packed everything in the motor home while I worked a half a day and the we hit the the road. Food, check, water, check, bloody Mary's check mate! Off we go, Big Bend National park in our horizons and Midland, Tx in our rear view mirror. First night we stopped in Fort Stockton, I know what you are thinking, that's not very far but we wanted to arrive somewhere in the daylight so that we could set up camp. And guess what I set up the motor home! Poppy hose, leveling jacks and electric, look at me go, This isn't so bad.

Nice looking setup. We just purchased a 2012 Jeep Liberty to tow behind our 300DS. Can't wait to get it outfitted and try it out.

We'll tow the Jeep when we aren't heading to a racetrack with my other fun toy.

Curious how the Coachmen did with the 4,000 pound Jeep in tow? I'm sure it did well but if you have any hints since we have similar setups, would really appreciate them. Love our 300DS...

Our jeep pulls perfect. The v-10 with the new 6 speed is really a horse. I can't get over how well the coachmen handles. Wether I'm in cross wind or big truck passing me. Another shocker was my combined weight. I was 17,480 full water , full propane both coach and jeep full fuel. Food clothes ,cook ware. ( and my wife likes cooking stuff ) but was still 4500 lbs from gcw. I use the ready brute tow bar with surge brake and blue ox base plate. I like the mechanical simplicity of the set up. You have to adjust brake cable couple times but after that it has worked just fine. I have 2.5 inch lift on my jeep and it makes the tow bar perfectly level to coach
