F4's are what got me hooked on flying.. Use to stay in my dads station wagon at night close to the flightlines of Homestead and then Zwiebruken airbases.. Full afterburner trails at nite where the coolest thing!

I was in Zweibruken in '70-71 at the Army base over on the other hilltop.

There is tons of F4 Phantom video footage on You Tube which many are good. You had a veery good start if you were hooked by the F4 Phantoms powered by two J79 engines. I have been loving them for 43 plus years and hope for another 7-10 years before I finally retire.

Travelling to MacDill AFB next December to stay on the base at their Family Camp for three months so we can smell the jet fuel and hear the noise of Freedom. F4 Phantoms still fly out of Tyndall AFB in the pan handle near Destin Florida but they will stop flying in 2016 or 2017 at the latest from Tyndall.
