Congrats on a good looking set up. It even comes with it's own "dog" house for you if you get into trouble

Congrats. That is an impressive rig. I like the sleeper cab.

In the beginning

Took 4 months, still a work in progress. Gutted the sleeper and put captain's chairs and windows in for the girls so it's not such a cave. This weekend is the first time out for a shake down run.

After using a Chevy dually with a 502 6 speed manual transmission, it was a dream not having to shift at every hill and speed zone. The 550 HP Cat was the way to go!

What transmission? Even with my 650 hp and 1950 ft lbs torque I find the 6 speed Allison to limit me due to the wide gear spread. Wish I had a 10 speed at least.

It has the 10 speed Eaton and I oversized the air lines between the air bags to act as a ping tank. I find even with 17,000 lbs I can start out in 3rd gear with ease. I mounted the Reese 20k hitch the same height as my dually and with the double jaw design backing into it is a breeze.
