Finally bit the bullet and went full time!
l
The DW and I have been part time in a Hitchhiker 5th wheel we had owned for the last 15 years. We finally made the leap... Sold everything and are full-timing now in our 2018 Dutch Star and 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee "toad".

Cool! That is certainly a nice rig! Are you planning on doing extensive traveling across North America, or sticking to one general area? Also, how is the coach comparing to the fiver? Nice to be able to use the bathroom while driving down the road . . . well, not for the driver, but for the DW. Also nice to have an on board genny for boondocking, or "Walmarting".

Very nice rig and CONGRATS!
DW and I won't be far behind you although we'll be doing the fiver thing!

Thank you...
We have always been travelers so we will continue to roam the entire U.S., trying to avoid the various inclement weather situations as we go. We've done extended trips to Canada/Alaska three times, and an extended 17 state trip in the old fiver, and will do it again in the DS. Haven't been east much so that's in the master plan.
I thought I knew a lot about RVing, but these beasts are a different breed. I've put about 3500 miles on it and have finally graduated from "white knuckle" driving to a more relaxed state. Newmar's tag axle on this shorter (41') coach is nice and with their Comfort Steer system, it's much more drivable in higher winds... And I don't get pushed around nearly as much by passing semi's.
The gennie is very nice, but the all electric everything in this coach is powered by monster batteries and 2800 watt inverter... I can run all necessities, slide, micro, oven, fridge, stove, heat, etc for about 10 to 12 hours on the inverter before recharging.
When we stop for lunch, we pop one slide out, fix coffee, hot lunch, etc. and button back up, never having run the gennie. The DW can use the guest bathroom on the road, but boy howdy, when these things close up in travel mode, it's a narrow walkway indeed... We usually just stop... being retired, we do, after all, have all the time in the world... certainly more time than money! [emoji23][emoji106]

Awesome. You will love it. We bought a 2003 Hitchhiker Discover America new, had it for 15 years... Did 3 extended Canada/Alaska trips... visited lots of rugged, out of the way places we won't go to in this beast. Loved that thing. But we are not 20 anymore. If something happened to me on the trip, DW could not have hitched up or driven the fiver, especially when we pulled doubles with our Polaris Ranger on the back of the fiver. She is short, and could not even reach into the bed of the pick up. She can however drive the motorhome and hitch up the toad. It was a necessity for us. Safe travels and good luck!

from WA State!
Having had two DSDP's I can say they make great rigs and wish I had bought a third. The Magna is a fantastic rig but So far has been very expensive to keep running.

We are very pleased with our choice so far. Still have a few hiccups to work out... as expected for a new rig... But Newmar is great in helping us through that phase.

Absolutely beautiful coach for sure! Congratulations and we hope your full-timing brings you safe, happy, and memory filled journeys to add to those from your fiver.
