Finally got a 5er

We started with a 2017 RPod, then last year traded for a Cougar 27SAB travel trailer. We didn’t have a truck that was capable of pulling a fifth wheel until a month ago. We traded our Ram 1500 for a Ford F-250 Super Duty diesel and today brought home a 2019 Cougar 338 RLK. Can’t wait for nicer weather so we can get out to the campground!

WOW. Wish you had come here and asked first. At nearly 14,000 pounds loaded ready to go that fiver is going to be pushing the trucks limits. Good luck, keeping your weights to a minimum you might be OK

Actually, scaled out at just under 13000 loaded. Truck rated at 15000. Pulled really nice. I think we’ll be fine.

Hi ! Congrats on the new rig! We pulled a 5er for 10 years before getting the MH and loved it! Have fun and keep her between the ditches!

Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!

Congrats. We also recently got a 5er and have been very happy with the towing, living space and quality of the rig....but why wait until Spring? Hope you guys enjoy the rig in good health!

Your choice in rigs is a good one. I did notice though the GVWR is 12,500ish (10681+1809) in on the website https://www.keystonerv.com/fifth-whe...k-fifth-wheel/ Hoping your yellow sticker is different from what is below if you are scaling at 13k (copied from link)

KEY SPECIFICATIONS - 338RLK FIFTH WHEEL
Shipping Weight
10681
Carrying Capacity
1809
Hitch
