Finally "Upgraded"

We finally upgraded this fall from our old '78 Tioga to a '92 Dutchmen 30FK. It needed some work, of course, and still does, but for the price, we weren't going to complain.

The toilet needed to be replaced, but he had "another one" that he included. It was old and cruddy looking, so we went with a Dometic 310 china instead. Love it more than any plastic toilet we have ever used. Replaced the vent in the bathroom (fan melted, I'm assuming they had it on with the vent closed at some point). Had to replace the gray tank drain line because it was cracked, and both valves while I was at it. We have since replaced both the bathroom and kitchen faucets to update it (plus the kitchen faucet was too small of a diameter for using the dishwasher). I'm still hunting down the leak in the front window.

Don't judge, it made it home. It was a couple hours from home, and the owner (and the title) said it was shorter than it actually was, and hence, heavier. We couldn't afford to go home, find a truck we could rent, and go back to get it. Plus he lived a couple hours from it himself. The Explorer made it though, including going over a pass. We have since upgraded to a nice Ram.

Kitchen, complete with a portable dishwasher while we are set up for the winter (put in storage while we travel). Going to replace the flooring soon, and eventually the counter top because water damage from the front window damaged it.

Living room. Carpet throughout will be replaced soon, and I am planning on building a narrower tv stand for more space.

Bedroom, complete with our old queen mattress from storage. Going to rebuild the bed frame the previous owner tore out and go with a full-size.

Our kids

We are also going to be taking off the wallpaper and painting it, as well as building a smaller cat tree.

Oh, and if anyone knows of anybody who has a rock guard and hardware for the front window, let me know!

Looks like you have a bit of work planned for this, don't forget to take a holiday and enjoy it now and then.

Oh, we enjoy it quite a bit lol. We live in it full-time, and we are on a 6 week "vacation" from school and work right now. Of course, being off work (along with purchasing this), didn't leave us with the money to work on it right now, so I get to combine school, work AND remodeling this thing all at the same time. We'll enjoy it this summer.

I remember undergrad, I was working two jobs I think those years went something like KD, class sandwich job class study ramen noodles, pass out, wake up KD...

Look at it this way you can say outside she's a '92, but inside she's a '14! Classic ribbed all-metal side stylin', room for 4 souls what more do you want?

But that isn't happening, so we are content with what we have and where we are at in lives :]
