Chateau 31W- Residential Fridge Problems

The Whirlpool 18 cuft residential fridge uses 6.5 amps at 120V AC + .75 amp inverter + line loss and the inverter is about 80% efficiency. It came with 2 Interstate group 27s and they will not power the fridge for much more than 6 hours. The battery is down to 11.5 volts and the fridge starts with a clunk , clunk ( struggles to start ). I have unplugged all the TV's, installed a separate radio power switch in the bedroom, and turned off the ice maker.
??? How long will the generator need to top off the batteries?
??? Will a 3rd battery of 4th help me?
We like to dry camp alot in the National Forest. I do not want to be the a**hole
with the generator running 3-4 hours a day
An onan 4000 uses .71gph loaded, 120v ac, 33.3 amps--- how many amps does the house battery charger send to the batteries?
How many amps does the engine alternator send to the batteries?

Is anyone looking at a solar system? 400-480 watts

You will get better responses if you post your questions in the proper places, not here in the new rig show off section.

Ask the 'batteryguy' here. Start with 2, 6 volt true deep cycle batteries. Four 6v deep cycle's will likely make you happy. Solar will also work if you have the $.

So the the problem with installing 6V deep cycle batteries in a Chateau 31W anyway is they won't fit in the battery compartment!!! They are around 1 1/2 inches too tall!!!
I had the cheapest group 24 batteries that interstate makes. I installed two. Group 27 NAPA batteries the strongest ones listed... We just spent the night at a Bass pro parking lot 12 or 14 hrs. And the voltage was down to 11.9V . When these wear out my warranty should all be done and I may cut the battery tray and drop it a couple inches and put in two 6V. Wish there was room for four....

Thank You Ray,
I am not going to wait for the warranty to expire- i am going to cut the tray and add another Interstate SRM27 ( out of my boat ). When they die I will go with NAPA.

Next question- Do you have a XM1800 inverter?
Does the fridge / inverter make a double clunk noise when the fridge cycles. When you are on battery only. ( Dry camping ). Mine does.

It does make some weird noises and the fan that runs continuously kinda ramps up and down.

I needed to go on a trip so I didn't cut the tray just used bigger batteries...

The noise is from the inverter.
It is a cheapest version--- a modified Sine wave. The interer rep said to install a full sine wave inverter.
