It's great to have a rig paid in full. I did the same thing. Great minds think alike.

Wow, well 'life' just threw us a curved ball personally and we are heading back to AZ and will have to sell her along with the toad, bicycles and everything she contains. Will be a phenomenal bargain for anyone starting out RVing. She's in the Classifieds section.

I will explain what happened later as we get everything sorted.

Steveclv - now that's just heartbreaking. Sorry to hear this. Maybe fate will intervene and you can keep her. Fingers crossed for you.

Now - for future reference.... You're supposed to tell the boss you're going on vacation before you get across country.

Steve,

This is sad!

It sounds like something really bad happened to you and/or other family members so you are in our thoughts. Wishing for you and your family the best.

customizing your RV

I'm glad to see someone else has made their RV fit their lifestyle. We took out the couch and dinnette and put in loveseat recliners and a custom built desk. I with more RV's had desk space, but I guess that is something only fulltimers would need.

Hope whatever came up works out for you. You have inspired us!

Thanks all - I guess I had better explain...

We are originally from the UK and have been in the US on work visas which we have renewed every 2 years - good business, employed US citizens albeit on 1099s, paid taxes etc and invested a sizable amount of cash.

The time came when we needed to apply for Green Cards and we dutifully filled in all the paperwork and sent it off with a large check (to the US Government and the Attorney).
Well we just got it all back rejected, apparently I am half a Manager and half an Executive - they disliked the idea that I used 1099s rather than full time employees.

Well we have appealed and it has been sent off to DC but we have to leave the country while it is being processed - we 'could' stay and risk it but I can't bring myself to do it.

All I can say is it's thrown us through a loop and I am liquidating what we have here just in case. Apparently it could take up to 2 years for the appeal and there is no guarantee.

As a thought - Canada is nice in the summer and Mexico in the winter.

So sorry to hear of your problems. The government ought to applaud you for putting anyone to work! Best wishes!

Sorry to hear of your misfortune. Unfortunately, sometimes doing everything right still doesn't guarantee a win. Good luck.

Sorry to hear of your dilemma Steve, did not see your thread until today I do not visit here that often because of time constraints, I'm posting your thread in the Newmar QT's # 3 link some thing like this conversion needs to be preserved for future Newmar owners.
I hope things work out for the better for you, you have paid your dues.
