Joined the DP ranks last week!!!

After being talked out of a DP and into a gasser last year (we were missled), we finally found our new home away from home. A 2008 HR Ambassador 38PDQ.

Kind of a unique story on the way we acquired this coach. We started our search in early Aug. for the "perfect" DP. The second lot we went to (Paul Everts in Fife Wa) had just the day before taken in this coach. It hadn't been cleaned or looked at in depth by the dealership. Instantly we knew this was to be a SERIOUS CONTENDER!!! We continued our search even looking at new coaches with no real promises other than the HR. We went home and listed our gasser (a 2006 Georgetown 3385SE) and a few other odds and ends to see if we could move them in hopes of buying the DP of our dreams...

NOTHING!! no real interest in anything we were trying to sell.. So we just kind of let things go.

In early Sept. we took our annual Oregon Dunes two week adventure. Had a blast, and on the way home stopped in at Camping World in Coburg OR. as they were a Fleetwood dealer and we had looked online and wanted to look at a new Plazzo 35.1. All they had was a new Plazzo 36.1. The only real difference was the bath and a half. After driving the Plazzo and being sold on the benefits of the bath and a half we decided to pull the trigger on a new coach. They gave us a great trade in $ on our Georgetown and the deal seemed very reasonable to the both of us. I had a meeting the following week regarding a new sales management position at work so we didn't sign the deal but made plans to come back if everything worked out at work.

Well, about three hrs into our drive home we both felt uncomfortable buying a new RV as the payment was just a bit out of our "perfect" comfort zone..

We decided to be fair to ourselves and try to find a good used DP that fit either in the budget we had set, or below. So we took off early the next morning in search of the perfect used RV.

Now mind you a little over a month had passed since we started our DP adventure. First lot we went to had a super nice 05 Safari Serengeti that we both really likes. Only had 16K miles and was below the budget we had set. Things were looking good. The second lot we went to was Paul Everts again. Low and behold the HR we loved was still there. Still untouched. It was if the heavens parted and we were in the promised land.

We asked for their best deal, filled out the paperwork and hoped for the best....

The Sales Manager came out of the office and asked us a few questions regarding our trade and then went back in his office to work the numbers. more waiting....

When the sales guy came out and called us into his office we expected the worst. When he presented us with numbers we were shocked. They were actually considerably less than we anticipated. Being in the profession I hit them with a counter offer, which to my surprise they accepted!!!

So it would appear we owned our new DP coach!!!

We went over the coach and made a list of things we wanted fixed and or cleaned etc. And within a week we were able to drop off our old MH and pick up the new DP.

So far we love it!!! Took it too our local diesel shop and had them go over everything and do a complete service on it. Everything checked out. Now to go RVing!!

Thanks for letting me share!

Congrats on the new rig and may you have many happy adventures! Funny how things often work out if we just give them a chance.

Congrats on a beautiful coach! It is so true that things work out for the best much of the time. We were able to buy our new to us coach due to a series of events that just worked out for us.
