It'll be a few weeks before it comes out the other end of the assembly line, but here's the foundation of our new 2011 American Revolution.

those pics are great, if you can try and get more pics of continuing the construction so you have a timeline of pics.

Yes indeed the pictures are great, keep them coming, seeing the entire process is interesting. Guess you are close enough to get there quickly. I was very dissapointed when we were not able to get to Forrest City during the construction of our rig. I asked several times for pictures of the construction process but never received anything.

Unfortunately I'm a days drive away, but I've got a friend 'on the inside' that has promised to send photos when he can. I'd thought about going to Decatur during the build, but as the entire build takes place over 3 to 4 weeks it just wasn't going to work out, plus I'd need an 'escort' everytime I wanted to set foot in the plant.

I'll let him know the photos are popular, maybe that will motivate him to keep them coming.

How cool to have an insider watchin' your rig as it progresses through construction. Now it's not just any chassis, it's YOUR chassis! Keep this pics comin'.

It may be a while before I can post any more. My friend has asked that any photos sent, once inside the plant, not be published. (When we took the tour, photos were not allowed in the plant). I will honor his request. He expressed some concerns about 'competitors'. I didn't, and won't, argue the point, I'm thrilled he's willing to do this for us, but it occured to me -- if I was a competitor, wanting to see how Fleetwood did things, wouldn't I just take a trip to Decatur and join the tour?

Yea, some pompous a$$ made those rules up. There is nothing rocket science going on inside there. Who do they think they are? JPL? Boeing? NASA? LOL Somebody inside just needed to inflate their ego a bit.

While I completely agree with your logic, I disagree with the sentiment. It's not my multiple millions invested in plant, equipment and employee training. (their company, their rules. Personally I think a complete time line of construction, photographically documented here, would be a public relations win for Fleetwood, but...

Most industrial facilities prohibit pictures. It's all about liability if there is a safety incident.

In most places, there are all kinds of violations. So they don't want a picture floating around there that could be used against them.

Believe you me, Fleetwood isn't doing anything, nor possesses any know-how that even a second tier manufacturer doesn't know.

I suspect you're right, but still, their company, their rules.

I am 'cheating' slightly and posting this photo of the rig, fresh out of the paint booth (which I've cropped). Should have multiple photos, inside and out, to share later this week.

Oooooh, Jay, she looks like a beautiful gold palace! Can't wait to see the pics you'll be able to post. How excited you & Peggy must be. I'm sure you're counting down the days (hours, minutes & seconds, too )
