This picture was taken on our first trip. We went to my hunting lease in West Texas with another couple to ride our ATV's and celebrate our 21 anniversary. Had a surprise steak dinner and roses for the wife. Some of you may have read my previous posts on the Toy Hauler forum.

Great looking set up! I had a lease down there in 1998 and 1999 in Grahm(sp), Young County. The "eight point rule" didn't sit too well with me being that I am a meat hunter, But like the saying goes, "when in Texas....." How do you like the Nissan as a TV? And what is the weight of the RV?

Mich, my lease is in Graham about 3 miles Southeast. Don't know what you mean by the "eight point rule". The way I read the TP&W regs., it is a one buck county but there is nothing in it about an 8 point restriction. I guess the regs. have changed since you were there. They do have one reg. that seems strange to my, you can only shoot toms and bearded hens. Why only bearded hens I don't know.
I have only made the one trip from Grapevine to Graham so far but the Titan handeled it well. I have a Reese Dual Cam WD/sway system that works well with the setup. I don't know what the weight of the RV is, I haven't weighed it yet. The sticker inside says the dry weight is 5160. I will never cary more than one ATV in it and I will rarely have 100 gal. of water in it. I did load it up to the max for the first trip just to see how it pulled and I have no complaints. No sway even with 18-wheelers passing the other way at 60mph.

we should probably start a RV/Hunting area at iRV2, no quads - only ATV and rod or rifle need apply.
I wonder about the other people with leases there, is the trend these days towards having a toyhauler or are they tenting it or cabins?

Nice looking trailer and good pic of the camp.
Mike

Wouldn't that be something if it were the same lease? It was owned by the Sheriff of Young County and it was approx 1000 acres. I was living in Plamer at the time which is about 40 min south of Dallas on I-45. The 8 point rule was not a State rule but a rule made by the group. I was outnumbered! Great times in Tejas!! Great looking Rig!

I think I recall it being a retired Judge that owned the property now that you mention it. The reason I recall it is because I was a Probation Officer in Waxahachie, Ellis County at the time. What a small world. I remember one of my box stands being on a dyke with a small tank behind me and thick mesquite to my right as I looked away from the tank and there were a few oil dereks on the property as well.
