I purchased a 2000 McKenzie Lakota 36RT in December, 2000. I previously had a 1995 Holiday Rambler Endeavor LE that I purchased used, however, I received excellent customer service from Monaco in Indiana. When the McKenzie line came out, I felt comfortable with company and product quality.
I am very pleased with the coach. I have never towed a 5th wheel before and I was pleasantly surprised by the ease to tow it (but I cannot compare to other brands). BTW, I purchased it from La Mesa RV in Mesa, AZ and I live in PA. It was a great 2,500 mile drive out and tow home. As in any RV, there were a few minor (and I emphasize minor) problems with the coach. I found La Mesa and Monaco excellent to work with. For example, the door latch was defective. They sent me a new one and I installed it. That was my preference. That method is far easier to me than taking the coach to my local dealer (50 miles away) and wondering if they do the work correctly. A few small other things that I do not even remember. I currently have a few bubbles in my roof that concern me (no leaks), and in the fall I plan to contact Monaco directly for advice. If they recommend it, I will take to local dealer to have it reviewed. Overall, I personally recommend the McKenzie line.
