I saw this Excursion featured in the July issue of Motorhome. It got a good write up, and the floor plan isn't bad. Unless they offer an option or upgrade, the short queen would be a deal breaker for me.

Enjoy that beautiful rig. Safe travels to you and your family.

Follow-up to those that asked about mileage with the 2013 Excursion. I just completed a 1,000 mile trip through mountains and flat land mix towing my 2002 Honda CR-V. I averaged 10.1 mpg for the trip! Very happy. Later this fall I plan to make a trip not towing -will have to see what my mileage is without pulling the CRV.

I got 6mpg from my former Gas Class A. This is a huge improvement for me. Hope this helps!!

Please let me know how your mpg is looking as I am real close to choosing a coach just like yours. I have a modest retirement and mpg is very important for any frequent use. Thanks, Thanks Jay (newbee Portland, Or)

Congratulations!

We have studied the new Fleetwood Excursion having owned a 2003 Excursion. Not in your class! Fleetwood has a winner with this new highly engineered DP. Fleetwood engineers are working hard to offer top quality , low cost, MH with all the options as the high end MH manufactures! Happy trails too you!

Here's some pics of the one I saw at the FW National Rally in Goshen last month. You can see the undeployed queen hide-a-loft above the cockpit seats:

How is it one careless match can start a forest fire but it takes a whole box to start a campfire?

Looked at it a couple of weeks ago. Waiting for a call from the dealer to test drive it - can't wait. I understand it does not have a rear roof ladder. Is it available as an option ???

I checked with our Fleetwood regional sales manager and he checked with the design team and they said no ladder. The way the rear engine doors open would interfere with a ladder. I haven't missed it too much. I just carry a ladder in the storage bays.

What about that drop down bed? Is it standard or an option...We usually just have 2-4 when we camp, and none of us would really like the bunk...It is a beautiful RV though.
