She's been mine for 3 weeks and I've already taken her dry camping on a 5-day trip to Death Valley National Park. This is my first Class A after having just come from a Super-C; I had two Bigfoot trailers prior to that. I do have a hydraulic leak at the moment that I'll need to get fixed. I also have some suspension and performance upgrades that I'll be doing in the next couple of weeks.

These pics were taken with my cell phone, so not the greatest quality.

The DW and I love your choice!

Looks just like our 34 SBD.

I will bet that the leak that you have is coming from underneath the entry stairs!

The jacks and slide run off of the pump and manifold that is under the stairs.

Not wanting to alarm you but you should get it looked at promptly.

If you do a search on the forum for Lippert Hydrallics you will see that several people, me included had similar problems.

I am a little jealous of your coach as you have an additional window in the bedroom, but we have an additional window up front!

Good luck and let us know how you make out.

Ray,

Thanks for the info on the Lippert Hydraulics. I'm planning to get it repaired next week. I do have an extended warranty, so this will be a good test to see how easy they are to deal with.

How's the handling on your Safari? On the way back from my maiden voyage, I was being tossed around by 18 wheelers and smaller vehicles that zoomed by; it was getting to be a white knuckle affair since there were also gusts of wind periodically. I've already ordered a rear track bar and Safe-T-Plus to improve the handling and, Koni FSDs to smooth out the ride.

Even though I have the Ford v10, I do prefer the Chevy 8.1L with the Allison. That being said, I do like the tow/haul mode for coming down steep hills. Other than that, I love my Simba.

-Tom

Ray,

You are correct; my leak is under the stair well.

Ours has the 8.1 GM engine with the 6 speed Allison and I just love to drive it.

Before our last trip down here to sunny Florida I took it into a shop in Canada and had them verify that front end was to spec. It wasn't and they added a wedge or shim to the front end to bring one of the angles up to 5 degrees. (camber?) And, adjusted the toe in (I think)

I also run 90 psi all around towing our Ford Edge around.

Now, when we are touring around, I can almost set the cruise, put my feet up, and steer with a few fingers!

Very neutral and not too many things push us around.

I have not had her weighed yet but I know for sure that we are no where near capacity unless the three of us have put allot of weight on this season!

Did you get the recall done for the brakes and reefer?

I'm on the Ford F53 22,000 chassis. Are there any recalls on this chassis?

As for the refrigerator, I'm taking it in next week at the same time for the hydraulic leak.

...and getting the 4 corners weighed. I was wondering about wheel alignment, but she seems to be tracking pretty straight.

Very good question!

I don't know but you could probably lookup your VIN on a Ford Website and find out.

Also, when you take it in for service, they should be able to tell you.
