Well, we have signed on the dotted line yesterday. Our last camper was stolen of a storage facilities lot. So we have been looking since insurance paid off the last one. We went to the RV show in Louisville KY, Saturday and decided to buy a Carriage Carri-Lite 36XTRM5. The show price was $5000 off MSRP. But they wanted to get us in it and maybe felt sorry for us after we told them the story. They came back with $16000 off MSRP so we say yes. We signed all the paperwork yesterday. Below is a link to some pictures of the camper.

lanwangeek...
Congrats to you on your new 5er! Are you the one who had their rig taken by a group of "travelers" from the storage lot?
I am sure you will enjoy it immensely - When is your first trip!??

Yep, that was me. I'm already planning theft protection. I'm going to have a king pin lock, wheel boots, rv cover, and a special surprise for the person that decides to try and take it next time. I will just say that I hold a degree in Electronics Engineering. If they try again, they will need a tow truck for their truck. Hateful, maybe. Will it make me feel better. You bet.
The first trip will be the day we pick it up. We have a second trip planned for the following weekend to go down to Mammoth Caves for the weekend. I can't wait.
We even went back to the RV show this weekend and spend some time going over the camper making notes of thing to have them fix, and looking at everything in even more detail. It is very interesting to be sitting in your RV at the show and listen to the comments people are making. Most people liked it, of course there are a few. You just have to wonder what they where thinking. Anthony

Sorry you lost your previous rig. Sounds like you came out OK in the end. That said, I hope the guy who stole your unit gets caught. Nothing more frustrating then having something stolen. It messes with your mind!
Keeping my Cardinal 32 fifth wheel in a storage facility always made me a little nervous. That's why I am going to spend the bucks to put in a proper concrete pad here at home. That, and the convenience of having it close so I can play with it when we are not on the road.
