New Canyon Star is finally here!

After 2 months of shopping, 2 months of getting the finances in order, and 2 months of waiting for the dealer to complete the mods we needed, our 2016 Newmar Canyon Star is home! It's a 40-foot model 3911 (the one with the wheelchair lift), and we're excited to hit the road this summer! My paralyzed adult son, my wife and I will be seeing as many places as we can afford! The adventure begins!

You & your family will LOVE your Canyon Star 3912. We bought ours new in 2013. My wife is the Captain & Driver. I am mostly Ballast. We've found the Ford F53 chassis to be bulletproof. We did add the 5 Star Tune to tame the transmission shift points (5 Star Tune is a really good add-on product). Newmar builds a quality coach & really takes care of their customers. If you want something explained or if something fails to work properly, call their customer support team. They will take care of you.

If you have anything that we may be able to help you with, don't hesitate to contact us. If you travel to the Pensacola FL or Gulf Shores AL area, contact me. We would love to meet you.

Thanks for all the well wishes. We are loading up for our first weekend this week, doing a dry run a couple hours from home with two other families and their rigs. Once we get everything loaded up and (hopefully) remember everything, the fun begins!

Such a nice coach! So well suited for the disabled. Unfortunately for me, can't afford that kind of expense and had to work something out with a used unit. It took quite a while to find the best floor plan for the lift.

Still, I was not able to gain access to the bathroom for my mom. The entrance into that space was too narrow by about 8". Demoed out the dinette and placed a full twin bed for her. Usually, we have good facilities outside the coach for her to bathe and all that.

It's so nice to have her with us when we travel and it looks like you're well setup for great times ahead...

How did your "shakedown" weekend go? Uneventful, but pleasurably exciting, I hope! 🚍

It went really well, although we weren't able to test all the systems. As of today we've completed everything for my son to be able to ride inside it, and we're prepping for a longer trip later this month. As for room and accessibility, it worked very well and we are pleased as punch with it as a whole. A few minor new vehicle bugs to work out and we're good to go!

That's great! Thanks for replying. If I can help answer any questions, just ask them & I'll try. Hope any bugs are small & easily smashed.
