This past weekend we took delivery of our 05 Dutch Star. We have worked a long time to get such a unit and look forward to making good use of it. We had to order it since we had a number of custom cabinets and other features installed. It is pictured below.
Now about the new tires for the toad. During the delivery of the new MH to us, we had sales people, finance people, mechanics, etc, all around us and interrupting us for one thing or another. At one point, I was in the process of hooking up our Jeep Wrangler toad when another interruption occurred. I had placed the transfer case in neutral and had released the parking brake, but had not unlocked the steering column when another interruption occurred. I never got back to checking the ignition. Yep, I pulled the Jeep home, 100 miles away, with the steering locked. The front tires were toast. So two new tires and a front end alignment later, my wallets a few hundred lighter. Lesson learned.

Terry, sorry about the tires. It pays to check, double and triple check but sometimes you still forget things. I've wacked my satellite dish more than one time on a tree branch. Nice looking rig. Heard alot of good things from the Dutch Star owners.

WOW TERRY : I just saw the picture of your new DSDP. It is beautiful, and I'm sure you are gonna enjoy it. It is a shame you had to give up the two seater 3740, and I guess you won't be coming to our WCMC rally either , but I still hope to meet you one of these days. Travel safe, ED

Hi Ed,
We really enjoyed the 3740, it is a great coach, and it performed very well. However, we had this oppurtunity to get the Dutch Star, so we decided to go for it. We may go full time in the summer of '06, but we've not made a final decision on that yet.
After my anticipated retirement in June of '06, we hope to go to a number of events that we have not been able to attend in the past. That would include the IRV2 National convention, Florida and Texas Boomer events, and the annual Newmar National meeting. We are looking forward to the freedom and time to go and do these kind of things, but I think this last year of work may be a long one.
Maybe the Workhorse group would let me attend as a past owner?

YUP, WCMC is a friendly group, I'm sure you would be welcome. And I'll look forward to meeting you at Newmar 06, wherever that may be.

You are lucky with the toad Terry, my friend towed his 2000 Viper in reverse after being distracted by another Rv'er while he was setting up,said he didnt know what these little puffs of smoke were from his rear he assumed it was dirty fuel .
