How is the truck registered? As a hotshot I'm sure it has a apportioned Plates not to mention an IFTA sticker and Single State Registration which could lead to a problem if you should ever be audited (extremely slim chance).

You may want to check with the proper authorities rather than rely on information from a Internet board.

I'll definitely call the DOT and find out. I don't run apportioned plates or IFTA it's just registered as a texas truck and then DOT registered, inspected, and taxed... We've looked into IFTA and apportioning but just seems like too big of a headache for our smaller operation

That would make it a whole lot better for you, I'd have to say you'd be in good shape with just removing the commercial information or covering it up but Texas DMV should be able to set you on the right path.

Screw the DMV. They milk enough $ out of us as it is.

Just slap one of these over your commercial decals and call it good. Besides it goes with the tow hauler. Have fun and enjoy your new toy.

I've never pulled into a weigh station and have never been chased down because. Of course I avoid the Left Coast. Things may be different there.

Get magnetic "Not For Hire" signs. A phone call costs nothing but time-I'd make the call. Also check out Jack Mayer's website for HDT's and the HDT threads here. Someone may have experience.

Thanks y'all! I am loving it so far! I still have yet to plan her maiden voyage... But I'm thinking something within 20-30 miles for her first trip then a run into Ruidoso or Cloudcroft!
