Smile New Rig Show-off

The bug bites back! My wife and I have rented a Class C minihome in Alaska and delivered one from the Winnebago factory in Iowa for the same dealer in Anchorage and had a great time on both trips. We decided to buy one and have been to numerous shows for several years. The economy however has taken it's toll on our business and we put the purchase on the back burner for a while, until just before Christmas last month. She said we should look at a Journey DL a friend of a friend was going to sell. Well things heated up a lot and we ended up with a winning bid on a 2002 Holiday Rambler Ambassador 38 PBT with three slides on e-Bay! After driving to see the coach in London, KY. from our home in the St. Petersburg, Florida area, I could not believe our good fortune and closed the purchase of this motorhome. It was in excellent condition, and the dealer had done a great job prepping it for sale. Our good fortune was a result of the bad economy. The dealer had purchased the Ambassador at a dealer auction and the good price had been passed on to us in kind. We just spent the weekend at a campground across Tampa Bay and we are loving life and eager to take some longer excursions this spring and summer.

Congrats BlackMike

Looks great! I just bought one last week and I recognize what you mean when you say "at several campgrounds"... probably near your home.
We have done the same thing, got home with it from the eBay seller in Phoenix two weeks ago and have spent a few nights at every camp ground here in Austin Texas (our hometown) LOL. Just go to the house to get the mail. I guess we'll actually go home in a few days, but we sure love this MH.
Good luck with yours Mike.

New Rig

Thank you all, our coach was dropped off at my wife's cousin's garage for checking of the chassis, lube, oil, filters and such. Being as the coach only had less than 24K miles on it, we probably did not need to do anything, but I wanted to make sure there was nothing wrong. A professional would be better able to pick up any issues that would need to be addressed. I have my fingers crossed. After reading the postings in the Monaco forums about the broken trailing arm issues with some coaches, I decided to be cautious rather than brash. I did confirm that I have a Neway suspension system front and back which was a big relief. The coach was ordered new with the optional 315HP Cummins, and I suspect that the added weight required Monaco to install the beefier Neway suspension. Good thing! Bobbi & I are planning our next weekend excursion.
