Nice looking motorhome. We are also a young couple (Late 30's) with three kids under the age of 9. We started RVing two years ago and so far are on our 2nd motorhome. The kids love to travel and see different things. We purchased our last motorhome in July of last year and it currently has 13,000 miles all put on by us.

Enjoy & have fun !

Welcome to the forum...as if that's not been said enough by now! LOL!
Wish my dad was as cool as you when he took my older brother and I camping when we were younger....

Instead of a cool motor home, such as yours, we suffered through sleeping on 2" foam pads, with WWII Army surplus sleeping backs and all of us sleeping in some huge army tent that was just a nightmare to fully setup!

Definitely will be bonding w/your kids that's for sure!

What's the make/model on the motor home by the way?

Bunk/Table conversion

That's probably the best idea ever for dual usage of what will be mostly wasted space when the kids grow up & find other interests. You could take all that out and put in an LCD screen, an X-Box, a small refer, and a recliner. Not exactly a man cave but perhaps a burrow.

Regarding Fuel costs: Unless you're commuting to work in your RV does it matter? I have just over 10,000 miles on my 2006. It gets an average of 7.5MPG so I've used 1282 gallons of diesel in 6 years.

At today's prices that comes to $5525. or about $920 a year. But since the price of diesel has gone up so much in the last 2 years that's a very pessimistic view.

Or as my DW puts it - you wanna play? You gotta pay.

You are so right to not wait until retirement. We motor homed with our kids starting when they were 4 and 7 and continued until they were 15 and 18. Then college tuition and other things seemed more important. My wife and I purchased a motor home a few years ago and on our first big trip, guess who wanted to come? Both our boys, the 31 year old from NYC and the 28 year old from Hawaii. All four of us had a great 10 day trip and the boys said they wanted to go with us because they had so much fun doing it when they were young. You made a great decision!!!

Such a beautiful rig - love that your kiddos will get to enjoy the RV experience with you. We didn't get to do that but love taking our Grands whenever possible. Safe travels

That sounds just like our family. When they went off to college, the RV was sold. Then when my husband retired the first question from the kids was when were we going to buy another motor home and they would go on vacation with us! Well, a few years ago we started RVing again and now the kids (son and daughter) all have their own RV's and we are just thrilled to be able to all go camping together!

Joebear........if you have not been there before, it is a beautiful location right on the bay. Enjoy your stay.............we will probably be in Colorado about that time.
