New Tiffin 34 TGA First MotorHome!

Hello All.

I've been lurking and reading here for a while now and, Well we made the leap and we are picking up Our new 011 34 TGA from RV Corral in Eugene, OR on Wednesday. Any advice on what to ask, and the "make sure you" type things would greatly be appreciated. We have had 5th wheels and toy haulers in the past but this will be our first MH. We did a lot of shopping and tire kicking in the past few months and just felt drawn back to the Tiffin Allegro every time. It has everything we wanted except it has a booth dinette and we wanted free standing. We decided it's not worth the wait to order.

To say the least we are very excited but we certanly don't want to skip over anything important when we pick it up.

I'm sure I will be on here asking all kinds of questions ..... Like, what is the best tow dolly? and .......What is the best Track Bar?

See you all soon!

Nice MH have many happy and safe miles. Mr. Tiffin is a really nice down to earth man if you ever get a chance to meet him.

Hi

I just bought a Tiffin 2011 Allegro TGA in April myself and love the layout. My post is on this forum. The only thing I don't like and probably will trade out is the chair next to the entry door. It's a rocker and bangs the cabinet sometimes
while driving. We have to place a pillow there to stop it from moving. Tiffin said they have had no one complain except us. We are checking about switching it to the Euro chair Tiffin is offering on the 2012 Allegro.

Make sure you get all your warranty cards for everything as some of ours was missing. They should give it to you with a full tank of fuel and propane.

We went with BlueOX towing equipment all the way. We went with the Aventa II
It's a 10,000 tow bar although we are towing a Chev Cobalt which only weighs 2805 lbs.

Hi

I went to your dealers web site and I think I saw your unit. I think you are getting the better chair. Your RV looks exactly like mine except for the chair.

Good luck and enjoy

John

As a new brand new Allegro owner myself, may I ask how many warranty cards I should have?
I went through the bag of paperwork and manuals and only found three warranty cards. Not enough?

Thanks!

No, the warranty cards you have aren't enough. Call Rita Sounds at tiffin. I think that's her last name. Anyway she will help you get what you don't have.

I have to call her myself. By the way I was just at tiffin this past week and obtained a new chair a lot like your's. A way better chair then the square chair I had.

Let me know if you know what that cable hookup is in the right upper compartment. Not the cable you hook up your receiver to but the one on the right with the green light.

Congrats on your new rig. On the topic of the tow dolly, I strongly recommend towing 4-down vs. the use of a tow dolly, which adds more weight to pull, is difficult to load, and must be stowed at the campground upon arrival.

I personally use Blue-ox baseplates and towbars.

Make sure your toad is towable 4-down. Lots of resources exist to figure this out.

Thank you for the info. I left a voice message for Rita.

Does anyone have a picture of the "better" chair. Wife and I are not entirely thrilled with the square rocking chair we have and want to explore our options.

Green power light is for the antenna amplifier. There is a little button on the plate which turns the amp on or off. If you don't plan on using the antenna turn it off to save battery power... just remember to turn it on when you want it next time or you will get frustrated with your lack of reception.
(don't ask how i know this )

Sorry, not trying to hijack OP... Congratulations on your new coach!!

If you don't like the square chair, you can exchange it for any other chair but it may cost you some. Take a look at the new chair for the 2012 Allegro TGA.
It's a Euro type chair. It's on the Tiffin web site. Also look at the chair in the
Zephyr, which is the best chair they have. There is one more chair that is a Euro style chair. It have two knobs the adjust the chair. It's the middle of the road chair. It looks like the one that they are putting in the 2012 Allegro but better. Talk to Rita about it, maybe she can advise you further. Good luck.

Kasey, Nice rig!!! Here's a tip. I have a 2008 TGA and I've had this problem and so have other TGA owners. If you lose 120vt power on the driver side slideout outlets go outside and open basement door where the grey and black drains are located, there is a plug there that comes out from vibration etc.. Just plug it back into the receptacle and the power goes on in slideout. I assume the 2011 has the same setup. When it happened to me I checked every breaker and fuse to no avail. Finally with slideout extended saw wires going from slideout to the sewer bay and followed them and found plug undone.
