The spittoon is just for conversation. It use to belong to my aunt's father-in-law. I remember him sitting on his porch and he could hit that thing every time. He passed a number of years ago and his wife passed a couple of years ago. My aunt gave me the spittoon and her mother's cat when we were in Texas in 2010. The spittoon has been thoroughly cleaned and we still have the cat too.
