My new rig is our new toad - 2008 Jeep Wrangler Sahara Unlimited 4WD! It is quite a step up from our 2-door Wrangler. The Unlimited is a 4-door, 4WD beauty. We got the dual top option (hard top and soft top), MyGig option (navigation/satellite/AM/FM/CD/MP3), and we went with an automatic this time.

So far, it has exceeded our expectations. It rides so much nicer than the 2-door, love the MyGig option, and today we put up the soft top for the first time. I also installed the Blue Ox baseplate from our 2-door over the weekend, and it was much easier to install since I had experience

Love it!!

haha - it would match well with yours! It is a stretch, but it looks pretty good with ours too. It is in the "earth tone" category

Hi All,

Hey digNbubbs, Best of luck with the new toad it looks very nice !! So far jeep wranglers have been my only toad's. First was 1995 Rio-Grand, and now 2004 Wrangler-X, both are auto trans, 95 had both hard & soft tops and 04 is only soft top! Again good luck and enjoy !!!!

I have the same base plate on my '07 Wrangler and noticed that at highway speeds, I got some wind movement in the hood. I notched the original air dam out around the base plate and re-installed and it made a considerable difference in the way the Jeep handled at higher speeds and took away all the movement in the hood. Your Unlimited looks GREAT!

Kev & Ang, Great looking jeep! From the photos on your blog, you will get a lot of use from it, only now with more room and comfort.

Thanks to all on the topic of baseplate and light installation. Just spent the day installing the Blue Ox baseplate to my 2008 Wrangler Unlimited - very easy install. The light harness from Cool Tech was so easy my friends could not believe I finished in the 10 minutes it took to install. I spent a total of 5 hours on the project, taking my time since it was my first install. Thanks again.

I think the difference between the 2007 and the 2008 is the metal thingy surrounding the fog lites and on the rear bumper. Oh and did I mention that the 4 DOOR Saraha climbs the BIG sand dune very nicely at the Silver Lake off road sand dunes on the western side of Michigan on Lake Michigan?
